• Abolitionism: it was a movement to end the slavery in the United States in the 19th century that was initially started by whites and religious Americans and later on led by Black people including women. This movement ended slavery after the end of the Civil War by establishment of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution which was ratified in 1865. The people practicing abolitionism worked for complete and full freedom of slaves and this would later on promote women’s suffrage.
